Childhood heart tumors are rare but serious conditions in which abnormal cells grow in the heart. There are two main types of childhood heart tumors:
1. Primary tumors: These tumors originate within the heart itself. The most common primary tumor in children is called a cardiac rhabdomyoma, which is a benign tumor that usually grows in the walls of the heart chambers. Other types of primary tumors include fibromas, myxomas, and lipomas.
2. Secondary tumors: These tumors originate elsewhere in the body and then spread.
