Ottawa Senators to test out European-style supporters section

The are looking for ways to engage their fans a bit more inside the stadium and generate a new kind of atmosphere in Canadian Tire Centre this season. For inspiration Wilmer Flores Jersey , they looked to Europe, more specifically they looked at the rousing fans of the Djugardens hockey club in Sweden.According to Senators president Cyril Leeder, the team is going to test out a special section inside their arena that would be standing only, like many hockey stadiums acro s Europe, for 10 games this year.Leeder laid out the plan in a recent interview with TSN 1200 in Ottawa. : We are for sure and you can Pete Alonso Jersey never please everybody. Some people don't like loud music, some people don't think it's loud enough, this is kind of an attempt to desensitize that and put it one location and allow the fans that want to be rowdy and have a good time more of a European hockey atmosphere. This is common in Europe. It's been said that Djurgardens in Sweden have the best fans in the world and the reason is they're standing and cheering the whole game. That's not the North American style and I think if we tried to do that in our building we'd be disappointed with the results Jose Reyes Jersey but we're going to start with one section this year for 10 games. We hope to start that this year and build on it each year and if we can get one section really rocking then maybe next year we can expand that to two or more sections. Its actually quite an interesting concept that has already been succe sful in other leagues in North America. MLS has seen attendance figures rise at many stadiums as more teams have generated a more European-like atmosphere at their games.Hockey traditionalists in Canada might not want to go for something like this, but it's absolutely worth a shot. Hopefully no one in Ottawa expects Senators fans to be Jeff McNei Jersey able to match what Djugardens does, because quite simply, its nuts. Just lookHockey tends to be a bit stodgier in North America, but this is a really interesting idea from the Senators, which was the only Canadian NHL team not to have averaged capacity crowds in their building last season (though to be fair the averaged 99.9 percent of stadium capacity last year). Maybe fans wont buy in New York Mets Jersey and this will fail, but this is definitely outside-the-box in NHL terms and it could turn into something really cool if it works.
