Chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are a group of rare blood disorders characterized by the excessive production of abnormal blood cells in the bone marrow. These disorders include polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), and primary myelofibrosis (PMF).
In PV, there is an overproduction of red blood cells, leading to an increased blood volume and viscosity. This can cause symptoms like headache, fatigue, and dizziness. PV may also be ****ociated with an increased risk of blood clots and bleeding.
