Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) is a group of rare pregnancy-related conditions that involve abnormal growth of cells within the uterus. It usually occurs after abnormal fertilization of an egg, leading to the development of a molar pregnancy or a non-molar gestational trophoblastic tumor.
