Metastatic squamous neck cancer with occult primary refers to a cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes in the neck, but the primary source of the cancer cannot be identified. This type of cancer is often diagnosed when a patient presents with enlarged lymph nodes in the neck and further investigations fail to detect the original tumor.

Metastatic squamous neck cancer with occult primary is relatively rare but can occur in various sites, including the tonsils, base of the tongue, larynx, or even in the nasopharynx.
