Paraganglioma is a rare type of tumor that typically develops in the cells of the paraganglia, which are specialized groups of cells located near the adrenal glands, along the base of the skull, and in other parts of the body. Paragangliomas are usually non-cancerous (benign), but in some cases, they can become cancerous (malignant).

The exact cause of paragangliomas is unknown, but they are often ****ociated with certain genetic mutations that can be inherited. Symptoms of paragangliomas depend on the location of the tumor.
