A pituitary tumor is an abnormal growth that develops in the pituitary gland, which is located at the base of the brain. The pituitary gland is responsible for producing and regulating hormones that control various bodily functions.

There are two types of pituitary tumors:

1. Functioning pituitary tumors: These tumors produce excessive amounts of hormones, leading to hormonal imbalances and related symptoms.
