Plasma cell neoplasms are a group of rare cancers that originate from abnormal plasma cells in the bone marrow. Plasma cells are a type of white blood cell that produces antibodies to help fight off infections.
The two main types of plasma cell neoplasms are multiple myeloma and solitary plasmacytoma. Multiple myeloma is a systemic disease that affects multiple bones and can also involve other organs, such as the kidneys.
