Pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB) is a rare form of cancer that primarily affects children. It arises from the tissues of the lungs and pleura, which is the thin membrane that lines the chest cavity.
PPB can manifest in three different types, known as type I, type II, and type III. Type I PPB is the most common and tends to affect younger children, usually before the age of 3. Type II affects children between the ages of 3 and 6, and type III occurs in older children and adolescents.
