Appendix cancer, also known as appendiceal cancer, is a rare type of cancer that originates in the appendix, a small pouch-like organ connected to the large intestine. The exact cause of appendix cancer is still unknown, but certain risk factors such as age (more common in individuals over 50), a family history of certain cancers, and certain genetic conditions may increase the risk.
