Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is a rare form of cancer that develops from the cells lining the blood vessels or lymphatic vessels. It is characterized by the formation of abnormal, cancerous growths or lesions in the skin, mucous membranes, internal organs, or lymph nodes.
KS is most commonly seen in people with a weakened immune system, such as those with HIV/AIDS, organ transplant recipients who take immunosuppressive drugs, or elderly individuals with a weakened immune system.
