Childhood chordoma is a rare type of cancer that typically affects the bones in the skull or spine of children and adolescents. Chordomas are slow-growing tumors that develop from remnants of the notochord, a structure that helps with the development of the spine during fetal development.
Children with chordoma may experience symptoms such as persistent headaches, neck or back pain, changes in vision or hearing, difficulty swallowing, and numbness or weakness in the limbs.
