Gastric (Stomach) Cancer

Gastric cancer, also known as stomach cancer, is a type of cancer that originates in the lining of the stomach. It is the fifth most common cancer worldwide and the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths.

There are several types of stomach cancer, with the most common being adenocarcinoma, which develops from the cells that form the innermost lining of the stomach. Other types include lymphomas, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), and carcinoid tumors, although these are less common.
