Gastrointestinal Stroma Tumor (GIST)

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is a rare type of cancer that occurs in the digestive tract, particularly in the stomach or small intestine. GISTs typically develop from the inters****ial cells of Cajal, which are cells that regulate digestive tract movement.

GISTs are characterized by the presence of abnormal growths or tumors in the gastrointestinal wall. These tumors can vary in size and may be either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).
