Hodgkin lymphoma, also known as Hodgkin's disease, is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is a part of the body's immune system. It is characterized by the presence of abnormal cells called Reed-Sternberg cells in the lymph nodes.
The exact cause of Hodgkin lymphoma is unknown, but it is believed to be the result of a combination of genetic and environmental factors. It most commonly affects young adults between the ages of 15 and 34, as well as individuals over the age of 55.
