Lip and Oral Cavity Cancer

Lip and oral cavity cancer refers to cancer that develops in the tissues of the lips or the mouth, which includes the oral cavity. The oral cavity is the hollow area inside the mouth that includes the lips, gums, inner cheeks, tongue, floor of the mouth, and roof of the mouth.

This type of cancer can develop in any part of the lips or oral cavity, and it most commonly begins in the squamous cells, which are the thin, flat cells lining the lips and mouth.
