Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the ovaries - the female reproductive organs that produce eggs. It is one of the most common types of cancer in women worldwide and typically affects women who are middle-aged or older.

The exact cause of ovarian cancer is unknown, but there are several risk factors that have been identified. These include a family history of ovarian or breast cancer, mutations in certain genes (such as BRCA1 and BRCA2), age, obesity, hormone replacement therapy, infertility, and endometriosis.
