Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a fast-growing type of lung cancer that typically starts in the bronchi (the large airways of the lungs) and quickly spreads to other parts of the body. It accounts for about 10-15% of all lung cancers.
SCLC is strongly ****ociated with smoking, and most cases are diagnosed in current or former smokers. It tends to grow and spread rapidly, leading to a worse prognosis compared to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
